About
Beatrice de Trenqualye is a British-Canadian composer based in London, whose work spans film, television, and video games, and whose scores have featured at Academy Award and BAFTA-qualifying festivals worldwide.
Her recent credits include the BAFTA long-listed short film Weekend One, which recently screened as an official section at the Vancouver International Film Festival; Van Pianist, which brought home the Jury Award for Best Short Documentary at the Edmonton International Film Festival, and the BAFTA long-listed video-game Boarberry Farm.
She also composed the music for Beam Me Up, starring Nigel Betts (Doctor Who, Downton Abbey, Emmerdale) and Anita Dobson (East Enders); Against The Odds, which was nominated for the Best Newcomer Award at Green Screen International Wildlife Film Festival; Lacuna, starring Sadie Soverall (Saltburn); and A Hole With A View, which was nominated for a Jackson Wild Media Award in 2024, and a Royal Television Society Award in 2025.
Before beginning her career as a composer, Beatrice trained as a concert pianist. She holds a master’s degree in piano performance from McGill University in Montreal. She later trained in composition at the National Film and Television School in Beaconsfield, UK.
